DTC Etiquette

Here are some general rules of the club to keep our seasons full of lively conversation, camaraderie, and excellent lunches.

Reservations: one is quite sufficient. We have had members make multiple RSVPs for the same lunch which, although it displays your eagerness, it doubles and sometimes triples the work for the Welcoming Committee. If you are uncertain as to whether or not you made a reservation, please check your emails. We do send confirmations and reminders, and if your plans change, and you can no longer attend, please email: dtc@dutchtreatny.org

Registration Closed: If you try to RSVP online and registration has closed, that means the chef has already ordered the number of meals needed. Please do not show up without a reservation, because you will not be guaranteed a meal.

Early Birds: The doors open at 11:45 AM—not a moment sooner—to allow the speaker and entertainer their warm up time. If you arrive early, please wait in the comfortable chairs downstairs in the lobby.

Check In: Once inside, please check in before taking your seat (we do like to know who has joined the party).

Guests: If you are bringing a guest, kindly remember: they should arrive with you, not ahead of you, not wandering in solo, and not texting from upstairs. Also, a gentle heads-up to your guests that payment is by cash or check will spare everyone a moment of panic.

Veggies & Berries: You’ll find menu selections awaiting your attention at the check-in table—do take a moment to review them so our servers are not left guessing your culinary desires. If you choose vegetarian or berries (dessert), please place the card where the waitstaff can see it. They actually count how many veggie or berry dishes are needed before they start serving.

Dress Code: Reminder, there is a dress code at 3 West Club—business casual at minimum, and definitely no jeans or athletic wear. In the spirit of elegance, we encourage you to dress as though you might at any moment be spotted by papparizzi. A touch of style, a hint of flair—after all, at Dutch Treat Club you can make quite an entrance.

Social Etiquette: As a social club, we kindly remind everyone to steer clear of hot-button topics that not all may agree on. Leave those to breaking news streaming channels and social media apps. We are here to enjoy one another’s company—and a good conversation at the table.
