Our speaker is hailed by “The Wall Street Journal” as a “veteran journalist and historian of popular culture [who] writes with verve and mischief.” His thirteen books include his current “The Catskills: Its History and How It Changed America,” and acclaimed biographies of film legends David Lean (“Lawrence of Arabia” and "Dr. Zhivago”) and Stanley Donen (“Singin’ in the Rain” and “Funny Face”). He was founding editor of the Website for “People Magazine”, entertainment editor of the “NY Post” and taught at the Columbia Univ. Graduate School of Journalism. His work has appeared in “The NY Times”, “Washington Post” and London “Times.” He has appeared on PBS, CNN and the BBC.

Steve Ross, "The Crown Prince of Cabaret", will delight the audience with the songs of Noël Coward as only he can do. He has appeared on Broadway in Noël Coward’s Present Laughter and off-Broadway in his tribute to Fred Astaire entitled I Won’t Dance. Internationally, he has performed in London, Paris, Tokyo, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Melbourne and Sydney as well as cabarets and theatres across America and on the high seas. He’s hosted programs on the BBC and New York Public Radio and was on the Concerts and Lectures roster at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for eight years. He co-starred with KT Sullivan in Love, Noël: the Letters and Songs of Noël Coward in the summer of 2019 at the Irish Repertory Theatre.
