Speaker: JESSICA BRUDER discusses her current book, Nomadland: Surviving in the Twenty-First Century, “brilliant and haunting” said the Times. An immersive journalism experience of globalism with our itinerant, elderly, poor and white house-less workforce living in their vehicles, but imperfectly visible to the rest of us. Bruder teaches at Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism, and writes for The Guardian, Harper’s Magazine, The Washington Post and Wired.
Entertainment: Our own DTer JON WEBER's compositions and performances have met critical and popular acclaim in many countries around the world. Largely self-taught, Weber has perfect pitch and remarkable melodic recall. Weber produces and performs a popular concert series entitled From Joplin to Jarrett: 100 Years of Piano Jazz, which received rave reviews in The New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. Weber's broadcast appearances have included NPR's Piano Jazz with the late pianist Marian McPartland which ultimately became Piano Jazz with Jon Weber.
