SPEAKER: FOSTER HIRSCH
Foster Hirsch, Professor of film at Brooklyn College, returns to DTC to discuss his current reissued and updated magisterial biography, “Otto Preminger: The Man Who Would Be King.” Nothing about Preminger was small, from his privileged upbringing in pre-Nazi Vienna to his career in film and theater. Sometimes known as “Otto the Terrible” for his hot-tempered personality, that fire and determination was central to his achievement. The range of his work as a director was remarkable: romantic comedies, musicals, courtroom dramas, classic plays, political melodrama, war films and film noir. Come hear Foster’s talk about a titan of film.
