In 2017, New Yorker staff writer D. T. Max began working on a major profile of Stephen Sondheim. Sadly, that process — and the years of conversation — was cut short by Sondheim’s own hesitations, then the global pandemic, and finally by the great artist’s death in November 2021. Now, Max has taken the raw version of these conversations and knit them together into an unforgettable work of literature and celebration. Finale reveals Sondheim at his most relaxed, thoughtful, sardonic, and engaging.

TANYA MOBERLY, a MAC & Bistro Award Winning Vocalist, has been performing in cabaret for over 25 years. Don’t Tell Mama is her home, but she has also appeared at many other venues, including Rose Hall at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. Her current series MOBERLY AT MAMA’S MONTHLY – SIX DIFFERENT SHOWS WITH SIX DIFFERENT MUSICAL DIRECTORS continues on April 21st at 7pm singing the songs of Stephen Sondheim & Stephen Schwartz with Mark Janas at the piano. Tanya is also the Six-Time MAC Award Winning Producer of THE SALON (NYC’s Most Award Winning Open-Mic), a Bistro Award Winning Director and a Booking Manager at Don’t Tell Mama.
