Entertainer: Juliet Kurtzman began playing the violin at age 7, and was quickly discovered as a child prodigy. Throughout her youth, she performed extensively throughout the US in solo recitals and with orchestras. She made her Carnegie Hall debut at the age of 17. After graduating, In Europe, she concertized both as a soloist and chamber musician where she became the first violinist of the Luzern Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Zurich Chamber Orchestra. Julie is currently on the faculty at the 92 Street Y, the Special Music School, and the Lucy Moses School, where she has several award winning students. Juliet has begun diversifying styles and genres of music, and performs regularly in a variety of solo and chamber concerts.
Speakers: Alex Ward & Tiina Loite worked with BIll Cunningham at The New York Times, and will discuss the new Times book, Bill Cunningham: On the Street: Five Decades of Iconic Photography. The book covers his work as as a great photographer, fashion genius and, even, anthropologist, helping fill the void left by Cunningham’s absence. A Harvard drop-out and a women’s hat designer, Cunningham created the iconic photographic chronicle of fashion in New York. A perfect Holiday gift from the “icon of street style” with 700 of his photographs.
