Entertainer: Frans Bloem - "the singer with the beautiful voice" - was born in Holland, but has been a resident of New York for more than 30 years. He has entertained audiences world-wide with great succes. His exceptional qualities as an entertainer gives his performance an extra dimension that allows him to communicate in an intense and personal way with his public. He is famed for his excellent interpretation of chansonnier Charles Aznavour.
Speakers: Sheryl WuDunn & Nicholas D. Kristoff, were the first husband-and-wife team to win a Pulitzer, in 1990 for their coverage of China. They co-authored four previous books: A Path Appears, Half the Sky, Thunder from the East and China Wakes. She worked for The New York Times as a business editor and foreign correspondent in Tokyo and Beijing, and now works in finance and consulting. Their current book TIGHTROPE: Americans Reaching for Hope is a deft and credible exploration of the forgotten America, from rural areas to inner cities, left behind pockets of poverty in our prosperity.
