Symphonic work includes the Boston Philharmonic with Ben Zander, the Tulsa Symphony with Peter Nero, the Detroit Symphony, the Richmond Symphony with Charles Strouse, the Palm Beach Pops, and The Silicon Valley Symphony. Speaker: Simon Jones, a.k.a King George V is the noted actor who plays the King in the just released Downton Abbey movie. The beloved characters from the acclaimed BBC television series are (mostly) back and the occasion in the movie is a visit by King George V and Queen Mary to Downton Abbey. Simon will talk about the Downton Abbey phenomenon and its continuing popularity. Simon has many credits in a long acting career, including the Arthur Dent character in the radio and television productions of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, the BBC Brideshead Revisited, and, on Broadway, Blithe Spirit and Farinelli and the King.
